Rethinking Modern Love – Why This Podcast Season Matters
BTS (behind the scenes) of My little podcast recording…
Welcome to Going Beyond the Bedroom with LTAS!
I’m thrilled and (honestly), terrified to introduce my debut podcast with its first season: Rethinking Modern Love – Challenges, Trends & New Perspectives. It’s been a work in progress and the truth is that by the end of last year I thought it would never happen. You see, this little podcast is about 5 years or more in the making (well at least since I first felt lead to do it). The vision was simple, a microphone, my laptop and all that I wanted to share. I felt so struck with fear and inferiority that it didn’t happen for more than 4 years.
Then in 2024 I knew I had to get going, so I lined some people up, and got an amazing offer by some friends who agreed to film it all for me. I was shocked. Could this have been it? After 2 filming days for about 3 hours or so of content, it was a non-start. The content was great, the film quality good, but I could not release it because there was not enough.
I used some of the content for shorts, and social media, but I was so demoralised. Deep down, I knew that this was NOT the way it was meant to be, so with tail between my legs, I called it a day and put the thing to bed. I completed my course and then went away for 6 weeks for a well-earned break, but I could not shake the feeling and need to get this Podcast out of me. So I planned and prepared, researched and prepared my talking points. I got back, set to work and bought a mic. I taught myself how to record and began at a hectic pace till 5 episodes of season 1 were recorded, edited and mixed.
I publicised it on social media partly to keep myself accountable and shared the first episode to friends and family for early feedback. Then I set a date - the first week of March (still non-committal)...
I was so filled with anxiety that I almost didn’t do it. Comparison and shame filled me. But something had to give, so I did. I would release the podcast and whatever happened, would happen. So here is to Going Beyond the Bedroom and the journey before me.
Why Start With This Theme?
Relationships are evolving, and with so many shifts happening in the way we connect, it’s time to have honest conversations about what love, intimacy, and commitment really look like today.
Love and relationships have always been at the heart of human connection, but in recent years, things have changed dramatically. Technology, social shifts, and evolving gender roles are redefining how we meet, commit, and even think about intimacy.
More and more people are questioning traditional relationship models, wondering if marriage is still the gold standard, or if long-term monogamy is even realistic. At the same time, we’re seeing a rise in dating fatigue, relationship burnout, and therapy as a tool for deeper connection.
That’s why this season is all about exploring the changing landscape of modern relationships—the good, the bad, and the complicated.
What to Expect in Season 1
Throughout this season, we’ll break down the key trends shaping love today, including:
💡 The Love Evolution – Are relationships improving or becoming more complicated? We break down dating trends, technology, and shifting social norms.
💡 Dating, Breakups, Burnout and Commitment in the Modern World – Modern relationships are shaped by busy lives, digital distractions, and evolving expectations, making love feel harder to navigate. Is lifelong commitment still the goal, or are flexible relationships the future? And when love ends, how do we know when to fight or let go?
💡Love, Faith, Intimacy, Sex, Emotional Wellbeing & Culture – What does a healthy love life look like today and how do cultural and religious beliefs impact modern relationships?
Each episode will feature expert insights, personal stories, and practical guidance to help you rethink love on your terms.
Why This Matters to You
Whether you’re single, in a relationship, or just curious about how love is evolving, this season is for you. It’s about challenging outdated assumptions, gaining new perspectives, and discovering what truly works for YOU when it comes to love and intimacy.
Why This Matters to Me
I know I won’t have the chance to see everyone in my therapy room, but I have a deep desire to serve the global community in whatever way I can. I don’t fit the traditional mould of the therapy space—I’m aware of that. I came to this work later than most, and my path here has been anything but direct. Yet, I believe every step was intentional, leading me to this purpose. This is my contribution, alongside the countless hours I spend with clients from all walks of life. This is my voice amid the noise—my truths, my reflections, and my perspective on the world. So will you join me on this adventure?
